What is CDCP?
The CDCP is the first step to ensuring Canadians, within certain restrictions, have access to affordable dental care. Barely any dental services are affordable for citizens lacking dental insurance, and the CDCP is attempting to alleviate this issue.
Those who are Canadian residents who have declared tax status, insured Canadians with an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000, and those who have filed their tax return in the previous year are eligible and stand to benefit from the CDCP.
What Services are Offered?
The CDCP is offering preventive and restorative dental services. Preventive care dental services are clinically cleaning, applying dental sealants, and providing fluoride treatment to hinder dental decay and gum disease. Routine dental exams and X-rays are done to monitor dental health and to catch problems early, so they are imperative to preventative care. As for as restorative care, CDCP offer fillings and crowns in addition to root canal treatment.

How to Access CDCP Benefits at Alton Dental
Alton Dental would like to help patients who qualify for the CDCP. For us to process your benefits we must have your enrollment confirmation and member card from Sun Life, who administers the CDCP for the Government of Canada. With your welcome package from Sun Life, you will find information about your coverage, including the start date for benefits related to dental services.
Should you already have coverage under a different government dental program or provincial one, your CDCP benefits will be adjusted to eliminate overlap of coverage. This is to ensure that all Canadians have access to the care that is warranted.
Booking Your Appointment
Alton Dental is pleased to see all participants of the CDCP. When you call to book your appointment, please let us know that you are a CDCP client. At the appointment, please submit your CDCP member card and any documents related to your coverage. We will bill Sun Life for you directly for the covered services to the CDCP.
