There are four categories of tooth-damaging foods: Sugary Sticky Acidic Hard or Sharp It is beneficial to consider these groups when selecting foods to fill during a treat or meal, for a lot of foods can be categorized into these four descriptions. With over 10 different foods that can damage your teeth, this list features the ones that might just shock you. ## 10 Foods You Had No Clue Were Ruining Your Teeth ### 1. Orange Juice The fact that orange juice is bad for teeth is shocking to people because it is loaded with vitamins such as vitamin C. The issue is that orange juice is very acidic; therefore, it eats away at the [enamel](https://altondental.ca/dental-services/restorative/). The topic of emergency dental care isn’t fully addressed in the guidelines but here is what we know. ## No Frequency Limit on Emergency Services The CDCP has a limit on the number of times you can seek specific dental services. Any services beyond that limit will require pre-approval. [Emergency dental care](https://altondental.ca/emergency-dentist-burlington/) in 2025 doesn’t have a frequency limit so you can go see your dentist in an emergency as many times as you need. ## Some Services Overlap Emergency dental care covers an initial exam, diagnosis, and pain management. Other procedures given as part of emergency dental care aren’t addressed in the guidelines but could be included under other covered services such as “major services” or “diagnostic services.” Surgery, such as what would be required to reinsert a [knocked out tooth](https://altondental.ca/dental-services/restorative/dental-implants/), could be covered under the CDCP whether it’s in an emergency dental visit or through a [regular dental exam](https://altondental.ca/dental-services/preventative/dental-cleaning/).
